"a glimpse into my current work based out of los angeles, ca. multicultural upbringing, identity and practices within the home are consistent themes embodied into my sculpture and installations. the first and second series from ARCH. hints my cultural upbringing and it is the first approach towards extending my studio artwork into home design resulting in hand molded candles inspired by english brutalist architecture and the island volcanoes of ometepe, nicaragua."

hu/bstudio indulges on an ongoing creative process bringing life to a connection between nature and design disguised as an object of desire and enjoyed in a personal or social space. as an ever evolving studio practice, we are inspired by brutalism and produce work with wabi-sabi (侘寂) view points centered on the acceptance of imperfection.

born in the u.s of nicaraguan and english descent, hu/b balances latin and western philosophies in his everyday echoed through a collage of digital artwork and multimedia sculpture. consistent subject matter in the body of work are reflections of self-identity and acceptance within a multicultural household and it’s surrounding environments. as a result, discussion rises on the concept of home and how we rely on identity to define it.

striving for an ongoing connection between subject and viewer, hu/bstudio provides sculptural and digital designs for our personal environments. carefully connecting themes of identity and home simultaneously.
